What is in an MRE?

Typical menu-dependent contents: main course, side dish/snack, dessert, drink powder, spices/hot sauce, spoon, napkin, FRH heater* (Flameless Ration Heater) if required. MREs are designed for tough field conditions - robustly packed, compressed and versatile.

Shipping & packaging

Each MRE carton is placed in a specially made protective outer carton. This reduces transportation risks (e.g. impact/crushing) and ensures that the rations arrive in perfect condition.

FAQ

  • Case A vs. Case B: Case A typically contains the menus 1-12, Case B the menus 13-24. With the bundle A+B you get all 24 menus.
  • Inspection Date ≠ Best before date: The US "Inspection Date" is a test/inspection date on the carton; real shelf life depends, among other things, on storage.
  • FRH heaters: *Depending on batch/menu included. MREs can also be eaten without heaters.
